A couple years ago, I gave up my former life as a lawyer and jumped into programming. I reflected on a couple of lessons that I learned during my journey:
- Nothing is impossible. It is simply a matter of time and effort.
- But just because it is possible doesn’t mean it should be done.
- You gotta be willing to learn on your own. Experience cannot be learned from books or watching, you must do.
- Perfection is your enemy. Start small. Make mistakes. You will master it eventually.
- Curiosity is essential. There are too many new things for you to be complacent.
- Don’t be afraid of what you don’t know. You will never know a fraction of everything.
- Getting help is okay. You can’t make it alone
