Really great points! I do think that we need to be patient with the 1st gen. I see this more as as preparation step for Apple to get it’s developer ecosystem and potential customers ready.

As a developer I’m super excited about the potential with this device. It could dramatically improve the way we interact with information and each other. But it’s going to take time. This medium is a bit more trickier for devs than devices we are used to so it will also take time to devs to really understand how and what to make for the device and what users want.

Anyone shelling out for this device now for the massive price must really believe in the platform, and Apple getting data and feedback from these eager first adopters will be the real process where we figure out whether this medium will really take off.
